A millionaire dies giving rise to ‘Isuru Pawura’
‘Isuru Pawura’ directed by Priya Ranasinghe on… a script by Sunanda Silva revolves around the death of a businessman and the incidents surrounding it. The cast here are Neil Alles, Nilmini Tennekoon, Naleen Pradeep Uduwela, Hasinika Karaliyadda, Gihan Fernando, Gayana Sudarshani, Nihal Fernando, Deepani Silva, Prasannajith Abeysooriya, Murie Samarasinghe, Janak Premalal, Nuwangi Liyanage, Sarath Kulanga, Srimathi Heenatigala and Somaweera Senanayake.

In a luxurious hotel in Colombo a death occurs, the deceased is a millionaire businessman named “Wasalabandara”. At the time of his death, Mr Wasalabandara was not alone in his hotel room but was in the company of a girl named, Sewwandi.

The cause of the death was heart failurebut Sewwandi who knows that she will be the prime suspect of his death flees theplace with a considerable amount of Wasalabandara’s money.

Sewwandi goes to “Boteju” looking for help as Boteju is the person who introduces her to all the males that she associates. In order to prevent Sewwandi from falling into trouble Boteju takes Sewwandi to a safe house in a rural area. This house belongs to a lady named “Sudu Akka”.

The death of Wasalabandara brings lots of discredit to his family, the person who is most affected by this, is the deceased’s wife, Swarna Wasalabandara. She is caught in a storm of family problem. Her son-in-law leaves her daughter due to the disgrace that comes on the family with Wasalabandara associating with unwanted women.

Whilst Mrs. Wasalabandara undergoes the agony Tennekoon her relation comes to her rescue and his primary duty was to look after the business. Sewwandi who lives now at Sudu Akka’s place meets a girl named “Priyanka” and with her help Sewwandi starts selling lottery tickets. When she becomes a street lottery hawker, she meets “Sumanaweera” who is another lottery seller but he is a born blind person.

As this is a harmless and a peaceful means of earning Sewwandi begins to like this new source of income than her earlier profession. Even though, Sewwandi likes her new means of living Boteju prefers to have her practicing the oldest profession in the world.

By this time Sewwandi and Sumanaweera had got involved in a strong love affair. Therefore no matter how hard he tries Boteju fails to take Sewwandi to the city. Trying to make the maximum use of the opportunity, Tennekoon takes the full control of Wasalabandarafs business empire.

Meanwhile a police team had been very carefully and vigilantly monitoring the movements of all the people who are related to the incidents.
