Pathum" and "Ambiga Geethayen Geethaya" are still
remembered and cherished by listeners.
He
directed films such as " Sobana Sitha", "Deva Sundari"
and also took part in "Kurulu Bedda"."I laid the
foundation for programmes on radio and television and this felicitation
ceremony shows that the people have recognised me. It is organised
by the people who revived my art, but the government failed to do
so in the past," said Mr. Peiris, adding that the Media Minister
and the SLBC however have been supportive.
"
I am glad to felicitate my father during his lifetime," said
Charitha Priyadarshani Peiris the youngest daughter of Ariyadasa
Peiris who will also launch her latest CD and audiocassette titled
