take honours in low scoring affair

Isipathana College overhauled St Benedict's on the
first innings in a low scoring affair in their inter-school encounter
concluded at the R Premadasa Stadium yesterday.
Set
a target of 169 to win off 35 overs, the lads from Kotahena faired
better than the first when they ended the day at 79/3 with Oshadee
Lakmal stroking a quick fire unbeaten 30 before the the match came
to early end due to bad light.
Continuing
from their overnight score of 49 for 6 St. Benedict's recovered
to trot pass the three figures. Tharindu Heshan played a patient
innings of 20 batting for well over 120 minutes.
Batting
for the second time the Isipathana made an early declaration at
102 for 7 with Tharaka Waduge stroking a brisk 34.
