MFA
: 2006, not 2005 the crisis era
Will 2005 be the most critical period in Sri Lanka's apparel industry
after textile quotas end? Not so, believes the Joint Apparel Association
Forum (JAAF). This group of apparel associations believes 2006 would
be the most critical year as quotas already issued would take care
of next year’s needs.
Read
all about this and other garment industry issues in the fourth issue
of the special section titled "Countdown to phasing out of
the MFA" in The Sunday Times FT next week.
The
theme this month is "Need for a coordinated effort between
the industry, government, workers, trade unions and buyers to handle
the phasing out process." |
