Hayleys
2nd quarter profits up 35%
The diversified blue-chip Hayleys Group last week reported Rs. 278
million post-tax profits for the second quarter of 2004, up by 35
percent from the corresponding period last year.
The
company said this included a deduction for minority interest payments.
The net assets per share value went up to Rs 135 from 123.50 last
year. Hayleys operates a diversified business of chemicals, coir,
electronics, agriculture, and engineering.
The
company conducts its activities principally in Sri Lanka but also
has operations in Europe, Japan, Australia and the United Kingdom.
