GOH
offer open once again
Bank of Ceylon (BOC), owners of the former Taprobane hotel now known
as the Grand Oriental Hotel (GOH), has re-advertised an offer calling
for a new manager of the property. It called for applications from
qualified parties for the management of the historic hotel, which
is more than 125 years old.
According
to a BOC official, they had called for interested parties to manage
the hotel more than a year ago but they had not received any suitable
offers and therefore were running the advertisement for the second
time.
The
hotel is currently being managed by a subsidiary company of the
bank. The official also said the bank was working with the Archaeological
Department in order to re-furbish some parts of the hotel, which
is a historical site. |
