'447'
- Colombo's biggest restaurant cum nightclub
'447' is a new, purpose built club and restaurant opening at the
end of next month at Union Place in Colombo, its promoters said.
Bridging
the gap in entertainment and nightlife in Sri Lanka and abroad is
what Gehan Fernando and Dinesh Wijesinghe, the two main initiators
of '447' are hoping for.
'447'
will be one the largest clubs in Sri Lanka, with a capacity of holding
1000 people at a time. It has a VIP area on the mezzanine floor,
which includes a wine bar, cigar lounge, a 70-feet long bar and
will cater to an older clientele. The menu will be based on a sophisticated
grill theme and will be open for lunch and dinner. The club will
cater mostly for the 18-35 age group and it will have probably the
most unique dance floor in Sri Lanka - a glass dance floor with
water underneath. The music will be strictly DJ music in the club
whereas the restaurant will be more of a jazz bar.
'447'
is managed by Global Leisure Management (Pvt) Ltd, and it will be
the first project of this relatively new company, of which Fernando
and Wijesinghe are directors. An investment of Rs 35 million has
gone into this project. |
