Japanese Parliamentary Foreign Secy. meets PM
Visiting Parliamentary Foreign Affairs Secretary for Japan Keishiro Fukushima will meet Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapakse tomorrow, the Japanese Embassy said.

Mr. Fukushima is a member of the House of Councillors under the Liberal Democratic Party (LDP). According to an Embassy press release his visit is a follow up to the visit to Japan by Foreign Minister Lakshman Kadirgamar and is in response to his proposing a deeper and widening of bilateral ties with Japan.

Mr. Fukushima who is on a two day visit to strengthen bilateral ties is to undertake a field trip to the Colombo Port, the Morenna Agriculture Technology Transfer and Training Centre and the Minor Crop Promotion Centre in Walpita before he leaves for Japan on Tuesday.

Mr. Fukushima is also scheduled to meet Cultural Affairs Minister Vijitha Herath, Women's Affairs Minister Sumedha Jayasena, Deputy Foreign Minister Vishwa Warnapala and Defence Secretary Asoka Jayawardena.
