Rankatha set up distress call centres in affected areas
All Hutch (mobile phone) branch offices in the tsunami affected
areas in the south and the east have been advised to reopen operations
immediately with the aim toproviding communication assistance to
people in the area.
In
the case of damaged buildings and offices, steps are being taken
to start off operations by setting up temporary units to help the
general public, the company said.
A
decision has also been taken to facilitate free calls to all those
needing to talk to their family or friends concerning their well
being from several branch offices.

person who wishes to convey a message to their family may also contact
the Customer Service Center by calling 0788 812 345 or dial 123
from the Rankatha or Hutch phone numbers.
Several
teams of roaming sales and technical staff have been deployed to
render communication assistance to the general public at a number
of locations in the affected areas. |
