Hot, hot and getting hotter
The current heat wave may continue for the next two months and the worst is yet to come despite heavy rain in some areas last night, the Meteorological Department said.

Although the rain may provide a brief respite from sizzling hot conditions, an official of the department said yesterday the hot weather would continue till the end of next month. The heat wave is attributed to rising humidity levels. "Even though the temperature levels have remained stable the humidity has shot up to ninety percent," The official, T.M.L Peiris, said.
