UB&G:Different
kind of culinary experience
The new and unusual a la carte menu was introduced at the popular
restaurant the Union Bar and Grill at the Hilton Colombo Residence
last week.
Combining
all the “sensual” elements of food-taste, texture, aroma
and colour the menu takes customers on a journey into uncharted
territories, exploring different cooking methods and presents customers
with a choice of popular cuisines including Italian, Sri Lankan,
Chinese and what the Union Bar & Grill is renowned for a decent
steak “grilled”.
Grilled,
steamed, baked, fried - each cooking method brings out the distinct
flavours and qualities of the freshest produce. ‘ The UBG
Combo has been one of the fastest moving items on our menu because
it offers variety and value for money all in one - the grilled fillet
steak combo with chicken breast and grilled banana prawns is served
with your choice of sauce be it pepper, mushroom, bearnaise or fresh
lemon and it definitely satisfies a healthy appetite,” said
Arden Clements, Food and Beverage Manager of Hilton Colombo Residence.
Soups,
Starters, Specials, the UBG Combo, Seafood, “Pasta, Pizza
and Risotto”, and Asian selection and China Town - something
to satisfy customers from all over the world or simply someone looking
for that ‘spice of life’ - variety!

Chef Kumara would be happy to assist anyone with recommendations
and might even create a dish with your very own special touches.’
He truly is a ‘chef on stage’ performing for connoisseurs
of good food”, Clements added.
Chicken
with Preserved Lemon Couscous - distinctively “lemon”
in flavour, for texture - the Cucur Udang - crisp, batter fried
prawns for aroma - the Potato Gnocchi in delicate creamy blue cheese,
a decorative Pizza Margarita with black olives are some of the top
attractions of the menu.
