Ceylinco Life honours top performers
Ceylinco Life last week honoured a record 400 top performing employees and sales officers for their efforts in the year that is now designated the 'industry leadership year' in acknowledgement of the company's rise in 2004 to the position of overall market leader.

Nearly 1500 sales consultants, sales executives, regional sales managers and senior management from all parts of Sri Lanka filled the BMICH for a spectacular gala, Ceylinco Life's 17th annual awards presentation, which celebrated the achievement of Rs. 3.96 billion in premium income in 2004 and with it, the number 1 spot in the industry.

Ceylinco Consolidated Chairman Dr. Lalith Kotelawala emphasized the responsibilities that came with market leadership and the need to extend the benefits of insurance to the poorest and humblest homes in the country.

"The Ceylinco Life family has been tempered by fire. We have overcome great adversity to reach the pinnacle of the industry. However, leadership is in the eye of the beholder, and leadership must be by example. Despite all our efforts, the protection of life insurance has reached only a fraction of the country's population of nearly 20 million. This is the challenge and the responsibility that we have to accept as the industry leader," he added.

Ceylinco Life's top awards winners for 2004 were: Best Regional Sales Manager - T. Vijayanath of the Colombo South and Jaffna Region, Best Sales Executive - Deepal Hettiarachchi of Welimada Branch and Best Sales Consultant - Prasad Manjula from Ambalantota Branch.
