Expensive
tea missing: courier faulted
An international courier company was summoned to courts after a
parcel of most expensive white tea went missing without a trace.
Ahamed Hananjey the Country Manger of Aramex courier company was
summoned before the Galle Magistrate and later released on bail
after the company failed to deliver or to inform the fate of the
tea to its producer.
The
producer of "Kilburn Imperial", Malinga Gunaratne of Handungoda
Tea Factory had handed over on December 6, the parcel for urgent
delivery to South Korea for a launching ceremony in Seoul.
The
producer claimed there was a conspiracy to tarnish the image of
Kilburn Imperial as many persons had attempted to bribe his employees
in order to discover the secrets of producing white tea. A full
scale investigation is underway to find whether any foul play has
taken place, the Galle Police said. |
