Arjuna, Aravinda recognised by MCC

Sri Lanka's two World Cup heroes Arjuna Ranatunge and Aravinda de Silva have been awarded honorary life membership of the MCC.

Arjuna and Aravinda championed the cause of Sri Lanka for nearly two decades which culminated in the island winning cricket's major plum -- the Word Cup.

Along with the two Sri Lankans five other Test cricketers were also extended the same honour. They are -- Jack Russell (England) Mark Waugh and Michael Slater (Australia), Wasim Akram (Pakistan) and Alistair Campbell of Zimbabwe.
