for CINTEC creditors yet to be given
By Sachitra Mahendra.
The Information Communication Technology Agency (ICTA),
which comes under the purview of the Prime Minister, is said to
be deliberately delaying compensation payments due to creditors
of the former IT institute, Council for Information Technology (CINTEC).
Although
assets belonging to CINTEC were handed over to ICTA, the agency
is yet to settle the payment to all the CINTEC creditors, a former
official in the Council said
It
is also reported that some cheques given to ex-employees of CINTEC
had not been honoured by the bank. CINTEC which was under the purview
of the Science and Technology Ministry during the previous regime
was later handed over to ICTA, except the human resources.
The
winding up of CINTEC has to be done by ICTA after settling all the
compensation payments and the present Science and Technology Minister
was given a Supreme Court order to supervise the payments. |
