Call the Paddy Board or the Municipality?
"Sowing paddy here for municipal authorities only," said a board affixed to the rain sodden bog that now constitutes the Centre Road between 10th and 9th lanes in Hindu College square (Borupana) Ratmalana.

Though there were several appeals made to Municipal authorities to redress this situation, the granite blocks that have been deposited for construction purposes still lie on this stretch of road.

A three-wheeler finds it hard to manoevre this stretch of road leave alone somebody on foot. When it rains, the entire width of the road becomes slippery soggy and impassable.

A Municipals Council member who lives two lanes next has pretended meanwhile to be deaf to all entreaties with regard to this matter, and some say that he is the problem not the solution.

A lady on 10th lane says that she has to hire a three-wheeler every day to get to the boutique close by - -which is within waking distance. How can one walk on a paddy field she asks??
