Sinhala silver screen has come together for Director Jayantha Chandrasiri’s
              latest creation ‘Guerrilla Marketing’.
            All
four has reached the sky with their acting in this movie, where
Director Chandrasiri has adopted a novel theme for his second film.
Kamal plays a role of an MD of an advertising company, while Sangeetha
plays wife of Kamal and Yashodha is his cousin, working with him
              at the same advertising agency.
             It
was a different character from the usual roles I played before’
said Kamal, who has acted in over 40 film up to now.‘I was
not normal from the very beginning. Hey, I mean the film. My character
Thisara Disanayake is suffering from the mental disorder.’
              He explained.
             After
Thisara’s novel campaign strategy to a politician, he faces
grave danger losing his mental balance.‘In the film, I went
against my conscience and simply faced a nervous breakdown.’
Kamal said. Yashodha plays his childhood sweetheart Suramya Mahakehelwela,
who still cares for him.Their love for each other is a secret and
              nobody knows anything about it.
             ‘We
worked toward a political goal for money. We have been asked to
create an image from nothing for political gain’ Yasho explained
the theme of the movie.‘Advertising means, in this film is
an illusion. What you see is not what you believe’ said Kamal.
            ‘I
am really satisfied with what I did in the film. It was completely
a different role from the usual I used to play. I learn from the
character’ Yashodha explained her personal experience in the
              movie.
             Yashodha
has acted only fourteen films so far. This is her second film with
director Chandrasiri.‘I am more comfortable with Jayantha.
He is like guru guides from all sides.’ she said. Gregory
Mahadikaram (Jackson Anthony), a prominent politician recognizes
Thisara’s extraordinary capability and entrusts him with the
task of promoting his presidential campaign.
            Some
of the scenes have been shot at the Mulleriyawa Mental Hospital
and Kamal says it was a real experience to live with the patients.
‘After the marketing campaign, Thisara Dissanayake was rushed
to the Mulleriyawa Hospital. That scene changed my thinking pattern
              too.’ Kamal said.
            ‘Some
times when I come for the set, I could not differentiate a actor
from the real. Virtually I live in their world’ he said. Sangeetha,
of course was a fresher with Jayantha, played a role of Rangi Dissanayake.
This is the very first time I worked with Jayantha and it was a
like a promotion to a higher class’ she said.
            ‘I
really did not like the way Kamal behaved....No no, not in real
life, but in the film as Thisara Disanayake. He talks and behaves
like a mad millionaire. It make me mad with him sometimes. Because
he was so real. If in actual life it happens, I would definitely
leave him and go.’ Sangeetha laughed.
            ‘Guerrilla
Marketing’ is a movie of new theme and, I am sure it will
open the doors to new development in the Lankan film industry. The
marketing of the ‘Guerrilla Marketing’ Premiere was
handled by Glenda Parthipan of Emphasis.
