The widow befriends a postal peon (Asela Jayakody) while she goes
to obtain her husband’s pension. He later cajoles her to the
city where he lives in a shanty. Before moving to the city, she
is forced to hand over her children - one to an orphanage and the
other to a well to do family. But she does not realize that the
peon and his henchmen had actually sold her child. She migrates

sells rice packets and becomes popularly known as ‘Bath Amma’.
This is basically a story that highlights the plight of the poor
