"Internationalisation" arm at JKH
John Keells Holdings has set up an "internationalisation" arm in its Group Strategy Unit, which will be directly under the chairman/CEO, the company revealed in its annual report.

Its task would be to explore investment and business strategies and it would play a leading role in conceptualising projects that will enable greater JKH involvement in attractive foreign markets.

"As a corporate leader, we have to recognise that our success, and that of the nation, will depend on how we play out our role in the global environment," JKH chairman Vivendra Lintotawela said.

"Our need to harness international opportunities has increased in urgency, as the size of the group and its capital base expands. We recognize that this is of critical importance to us in maintaining our premium shareholder returns."
