to prop local squash

The Asian Squash Federation Director coaching Major (Rtd.) S. Maniam
will conduct a Level II Course here, from June 12 (Sunday) to 18
at the Sinhalese Sports Club Squash Court Auditorium.
Major
Maniam, with wide experience was national squash coach in Malaysia
for over a decade. In the process he produced two world junior champions.
He received support from the Malaysian government's sports authority.
Besides this he has been involved with the Squash Rackets Federation
of India since year 2002.
Two
Indian juniors, Joshua Chinnappa and Saurav Ghosal won the British
Open Junior (Under-19) titles. Lecturers nominated by the Sports
Ministry Medicine Unit Drs. Geethanjana Mendis and Daminidi Attanayake
will assist Maniam.
This
seminar will be a tremendous boost for the further development of
squash which is fast spreading in clubs and schools. The participants
will be given an opportunity to answer in Sinhala. Areas of diet,
sports medicine, sports massage and sports psychology will be covered.
