Munidasa for World Kurash c’ships
Sri Lanka will send a sole representative in Upul Munidasa of Sri Lanka Air Force for the Senior World Kurash Championships to be held in Santo Domingo from July 20 this year.

The Lance Corporal will fight in the 73 Kg weight class.
Kurash will for the first time be included at the forthcoming Asian Games to be held in Doha, Qatar and Sri Lanka has the opportunity of sending a representative.

Although Kurash is an ancient martial art sport with its beginnings in Uzbekistan for over 3000 years it was first introduced to Sri Lanka in 2000. The founder president of the Kurash Federation of Sri Lanka is Rizvi Rauoof who holds a post graduate qualification in business management and is a successful entrepreneur.
