Docs’
alleged drag-racing claims life
By Shane Seneviratne
An elderly man was knocked dead by a drag-racing car allegedly driven
by four doctors attached to Kandy General Hospital on Friday night.
The
accident took place in Suduhumpola junction when the man was hit
first by a car allegedly driven by a doctor and later hit again
by a vehicle driven by another doctor. Four cars were said to be
involved in the racing.
The
four doctors were apparently returning from a restaurant in William
Gopallawa Road. The victim had been allegedly admitted to the accident
ward by the doctors without reporting the incident to the Police
Post.
The
victim’s relatives claim that the body was kept in the ward
for a long time before being transferred to the morgue. |
