It’s
more than miscellaneous
By Marisa de Silva
“Miscellaneous 2005”, a day of fun and games organised
by the Interact Club of Holy Family Convent (HFC) Bambalapitiya,
will be held on July 24, from 9.30 a.m. – 3.30 p.m., at the
Convent Auditorium. The project is aimed at bringing together interactors
from all parts of Colombo, to foster the spirit of togetherness
through fun and sportsmanship.
Forty
Interact Clubs in Colombo have been invited to participate in this
project, which hopes to emphasise the acceptance of individual responsibility
and focus on developing personal integrity and leadership skills
amongst participants.
This
project comprises a programme of indoor and outdoor games, which
are extremely fun, yet educational, which makes this project all
the more unique. It has been organised with the co-ordination of
a group of talented, dedicated and capable A/L students, who have
planned it diligently and meticulously right up to the very last
detail.
“It
has been a dream of mine to organise a project of this nature and
I would like to thank my project committee for all their help in
making this a reality. Almost always we tend to spend a lot on organising
projects and that’s why I think that this project is really
special. Not only did we spend very little in organising it but
I’m also proud to say that the outcome of this project is
far greater than any project HFC has planned before,” says
Peummi De Silva, Project Chairperson.
“I
personally think that we should always concentrate on simple projects
of this kind which fulfil our Interact objectives, rather than focusing
on huge projects!” she added.
“It’s
been really fun planning “Miscellaneous 2005” especially
as it’s my first big project as an Interactor and I’m
really looking forward to organising and contributing to such projects
in the future,” says Dinendri Indatissa. If you miss out on
“Miscellaneous 2005”, you’re losing out on a lot,
as it’s an expression of the true Interact Spirit, she added
emphatically.
“It’s
been fun getting to know the other Interactors through Miscellaneous
– it’s been a whole new experience!!” chorus Dinesha
Senaratne and Dinushka Jayawickrema. Yet another Interactor, Kumarini
Rajakaruna says, “It’s going to be great and if you
don’t make it on time you’ll be missing out on a lot!”
Hope all those invited can make it, adds Kumarini. All participants
will be presented with a certificate of participation. |
