Disappointed
exit
There was a packed crowd to hear the Supreme Court determination
on the legality of the P-TOM’s agreement.
Once
the ruling was announced, reporters and supporters of the JVP parliamentarians,
who were the petitioners in the case, gathered outside the steps
pf the Court waiting to meet them. But lurking in the crowd was
a disappointed supporter with an orchid garland in hand.
He
obviously was waiting for the ruling to go fully in their favour
but as this did not happen, the man made a quiet exit, garland in
hand.
List
of diseases
Outside one of the offices in the Supreme Court premises there is
an interesting list of diseases one may contract in the office.
One
is called “te lephonemania”-an urge to hang onto a phone
for at least an hour at a time and another called “leave-kemia”-
the urge to take leave on a regular basis. These seem to be diseases
which are common to all government offices, not only to those working
in the SC.
Building
his image
Rupavahini recently held a three-day workshop last week and its
Chairman made the keynote address. Soon after, he wrote out the
speech and sent it to the state-run newspaper group along with a
photograph.Insiders say the top man is trying to build up his image
in the light of his growing clash with the DG. |
