CBK’s biography out this week
The authorised biography of President Chandrika Bandaranaike Kumaratunga is set for release on July 29 in Colombo, publishers Media Prima announced yesterday.

The 360-page hardback, titled ‘CBK’ is written by Graeme Wilson, who has previously produced biographies of Margaret Thatcher, Tony Blair and a dozen other international figures.

“CBK had attracted worldwide attention and deals have been completed with major publishers in Europe and the Far East that will see versions in French, German and Japanese released over the next six months,” said Ramzi Ali of Media Prima. All profits from the book will be donated to tsunami relief efforts in Sri Lanka. A first print run of 100,000 copies will see ‘CBK’ circulated for sale on newsstands and in bookshops worldwide.

“The book contains a lot of fresh material and many previously unpublished photographs,” the book’s author said recently.
