'King' Claude begins to sing
Claude Fernando, also known as 'King' Claude, who is an award-winning pianist and composer, is breaking new ground, by becoming a singer. He sings thousand songs, comprising favourites of over a hundred years, accompanging himself on the piano, and with his trio "Vintage Vine'.

Claude probably has the largest repertoire in the country, with the widest range of requests, catering to every age and musical taste. He performs regularly at the Colombo Plaza and Trans Asia hotels as solo pianist, and his new act will cover coffee mornings, cocktail parties and dinners. He said he has already received inquiries from some hotels for performances at lobbies and pubs.

Claude has just released two of his originals in Sinhala, one of which is a duet with popular actress dancer Nilanthi Dias. ‘I am really looking out for two girls, who can perform with me. They need not be professionals, but should be keen and active’ he said.
