CCCSC Seniors for International 'Super Cup'
Senior Cricketers of CCC School of Cricket, Maitland Crescent, Colombo will leave for Malaysia today 14th August 2005, on an invitation from Malaysian Cricket Association and SSCC Ventures Sdn Bhd to participate in the International Super Cup Cricket Tournament to be held in Kuala Lumpur from 14th-22nd August 2005; for the third year in succession.

The Tournament, according to organizers, has attracted 05 teams from Pakistan and 03 teams from India. CCC School of Cricket will be the only team from Sri Lanka while Four Zonal teams from Malaysia will fill the balance.
CCC School's Colts team will be led by Damith Warusawithana former Thomian and Moors S.C. Cricketer and his deputy will be all rounder Manoj.

Millawithanachchi from Lalith Athulathmudali Vidyalaya. Others in the team are Thusitha Ranatunga (Gampaha M.M.V.), Chamath Gunaratne (Ananda College), Ruwan Silva and Asitha Wanniarachchi (both Royal College), Dais Kottage and Vasanth Yathawaraj (Lyceum International School), Naweed Ghany (CIS), Ramidu Jayatissa (Mahanama College), Damian Dharmaratne (St. Joseph's College), Roshana Seneviratne (Trinity College), Rukshan Wijesuriya (Carey College), Saliheen Hewagama (President's College, Rajagiriya) and Eranda Rushirukumara (Veluwana College).

According to CCC School of Cricket's Coach Nelson Mendis, the young team will be participating in a tournament of this nature for the first time and will be exposed to valuable experience to be gained from playing against international teams, outside the country. The young team is a balanced one with experienced batsmen and several all rounders in the team, and a few talented bowlers and a keen set of fielders. "The experience they are bound to gain at the end of the Tour should help these youngsters to be better quality cricketers in the future," added Mendis, who will accompany the Team as Manager cum Coach.
