Over
three thousand Tiger CFA violations, says SLMM
Cease-Fire violations by the Tamil guerrillas have exceeded 3,000,
a Sri Lanka Monitoring Mission (SLMM) spokesman said. Vilja Kutvonen
told The Sunday Times that since the CFA came into effect in February
2002 there were 5,970 complaints against the LTTE and 1,122 against
the security forces.
Of
the complaints investigated 3,006 cases had been ruled by the SLMM
as violations by the LTTE while 133 cases were ruled against the
security forces. The SLMM is yet to determine 815 cases.
Meanwhile
complaints have been lodged with the SLMM regarding the assassination
of Foreign Minister Lakshman Kadirgamar and the killing of SP Charles
Wijewardena, the spokesperson said.
