Cease-Fire violations by the Tamil guerrillas have exceeded 3,000, a Sri Lanka Monitoring Mission (SLMM) spokesman said. Vilja Kutvonen told The Sunday Times that since the CFA came into effect in February 2002 there were 5,970 complaints against the LTTE and 1,122 against the security forces.

Of the complaints investigated 3,006 cases had been ruled by the SLMM as violations by the LTTE while 133 cases were ruled against the security forces. The SLMM is yet to determine 815 cases.

Meanwhile complaints have been lodged with the SLMM regarding the assassination of Foreign Minister Lakshman Kadirgamar and the killing of SP Charles Wijewardena, the spokesperson said.
