Malinga shines for Gloucestershire
Sri Lankan test cricketer Malinga Bandara proved his allround capabilities when he excelled with both ball and bat for English County Gloucestershire in the drawn game against Middlesex.

Bandara stroked a top score of 70 off 89 balls in Gloucestershire’s first innings total of 333. He hit seven boundaries and two sixes.

The right arm leg spinner later captured five for71 in 26.1 overs in Middlesex’s first innings(297) to give his county a 36 run first innings lead. In Gloucestershire’s second innings (287) Bandara hit a useful 29.

Malinga Bandara’s good performances for his county saw him being adjudged as Gloucestershire’s player of the month for August.
