BDFI Dance Festival 2005
It takes the form of a spectacular event, an evening of exotic floor shows, competition segment, participation and excitement for the guests, at the Water's Edge, on November 14.

The Ballroom Dancers Federation International - Sri Lanka (BDFI), comes up with this unique dance festival for the first time in Sri Lanka sponsored by FIGGER 1000 - A product so appropriate for enhancing good figures for dancers.

In keeping with their vision of giving the disabled people an equal place in society, as much as a normal person, BDFI introduces Wheel Chair Dancing to Sri Lankans for the very first time. Very appropriately, part proceeds of this event are in aid of the Disabled Soldiers.

12 champion dancers will be flown from China, Australia, Malaysia, UK and Singapore with the courtesy of Singapore AirlinesI, the Official Carrier of the event. They will perform Wheel Chair Dancing, Salsa, Line Dancing, Latin and Standard.

The competition segment which is for locals, comprise of Salsa, Hip Hop and Line Dancing for Juniors and Seniors. ‘Much enthusiasm has been created in these areas and we have already received quite a few entries’ said Nemantha Abeysinghe, the Chairman of BDFI at the recently held Media Conference.

For the first time in the dancing arena, both competitors and audience will perform Line Dancing, which puts a stop to the ‘Cry for Partners’. ‘It is our aim to create happiness and relaxation for the young and not so young said Indra Joseph, Chairperson of the Dance Festival. Hip Hop will cater to all the free style dancers’ he added.
