Indian
images in 'Invisible Man'

At the initial stages of Sri Lankan cinema, Indian artistes played
key roles both before the camera and behind the screen as well.
The Indian singers sang playback while Indian actresses acted the
roles.
Repeating
the practice of fifty years, Sri Lankan director Dinesh Priyasad's
latest film ‘Invisible Man’ has a main role for a South
Indian actress Rima Zen and leading playback singer Udith Narayan
for songs. The South Indian actress Zen will play opposite Roshan
Pilapitiya while the well known Bollywood singer sings a number
of songs. The Muhurath for the film which is also the twenty second
production for EAP Films was held in Colombo recently.
Others
in the cast are Jeewan Kumaratunga, Tennyson Cooray, Cletus Mendis,
Sachini Ayendra, Anusha Damayantha, Vimal Kumara de Costa, Sunil
Hettiarachchi, Ronnie Leitch, Shesha Palihakkara, Upali Keerthisena,
Anuruddhika Padukkage, Buddhi Keerthisena and Gami Jayalath. A group
of child actors Kisal Sanjaya, Sanudi Priyasad, Tiranya Manoli and
Dilsara Mendis are also to play in 'Invisible Man'.
Nimal
Rosa is the cinematographer, Navaratne Gamage and Ranga Dassanayake
will jointly write the musical score with Latha Walpola, Uresha
Ravihari, Kingsley Peiris, K. Sujeewa and Ronnie Reach in the playback.
Somapala Leela nanda, Hemasiri Halpita and Nilar N. Cassim have
composed the songs for the film. Dhammika Bandara and Mahinda Kumara
are assistant directors while Nimal Wickremasinghe is the production
executive.
Sam
Perera the make up artiste, Welegedara Ranasinghe art director,
screenplay K. D. Nicholas, Somapala Leelananda and Dinesh Priyasad.
Nihal Sanjaya is the executive producer and production coordinator.
The
shooting on location of Invisible Man is to begin on October 18
and it will be filmed in the latest 3D technology with DTS sound
system.
The director has scheduled the release of the film for August 17,
2006.
