Benette flies high with ‘Sulanga’
Benette Ratnayake the director of 'Sulanga' (The Wind) now showing at the CEL circuit has received an invitation to represent Sri Lanka at the Cairo International Film Festival, Mumbai IFF, Calcutta IFF and Cleveland IFF in America.

Sulanga has already represented Sri Lanka at Montreal IFF in Canada, Janeiro IFF in Brazil and Asia Pacific IFF in Berlin. Sulanga is the second direction of Mr. Ratnayake who directed the both locally and internationally awarded Aswesuma (The Compensation).

The film revolves around four women from different social categories and a professor and it shows how different people quest for love and happiness.

The film plays Sanath Gunathilake, Dilhani Ekanayake, Palitha Silva, Chandani Seneviratne, Sriyani Amarasena, Roger Seneviratne, Rangana Premaratne, Sanoja Bibile, Semini Iddamalgoda, Gayani Gishanthika, Jagath Chamila, Daya Alwis and Sarath Kotalawela. With 'Sulanga', Benette Ratnayake introduces number of fresh faces to the cinema.

A band of fresh faces including Sathya Erandathi Ratnayake, Udara Ratnayake, Sujani Samana Kumari, Manuki Hettiarachchi, Manisha Jayawardena and Dewmini Danya Alaatte are introduced to the cinema and some of them play lead roles.

B. Wishwanath is the cinematographer while Lal Herendranath-art director, Ravindra Guruge- editor and Ranjith Wickremasinghe is the art director.
