Dankotuwa
bags another award for export performance
Dankotuwa Porcelain Limited (DPL) bagged the runner- up award for
“Best Global Reach” category at the National Business
Excellence Awards ceremony held on 22 November 2005 organised by
the National Chamber of Commerce of Sri Lanka.
The
National Business Excellence Award is an annual award competition
conducted by National Chamber of Commerce of Sri Lanka (NCCSL) to
recognize business enterprises, which have demonstrated excellence
in business whilst contributing to the economic progress of the
country. In addition to overall awards it recognizes the best performances
in several areas of excellence. “Best Global Reach”
is one such category and Dankotuwa’s achievement is another
feather in its cap in the area of export excellence having won the
“Most Outstanding Exporter of the Year” at last month’s
Export Awards ceremony.
Dankotuwa
said in a statement it bagged this award in recognition of its outstanding
performance in the width and depth of exports. Exporting mainly
to Spain, USA, Italy, UK, Japan, Dubai, Poland, Belgium, Ukraine,
Russia, Germany, Canada, Australia and India under the brand names
“Dankotuwa”, “Elan” and under other top
brand names its exports amount to over 80% of its production. It
has a branch and a retail operation in Chennai.
Dankotuwa
caters to the western taste and lifestyle by having world famous
designers from UK and Continental Europe to design its new shapes,
and launches new shapes at every trade fair in Frankfurt.
Dankotuwa’s
