‘Golden
Chimes- Now and Then’ at BMICH
Popular band Lankika and the Golden Chimes will come alive on stage
at the BMICH on December 10 at 7.00pm to commemorate their 35 years
of showbiz in Sri Lanka.
‘Golden
Chimes -Then and Now Concert 2005’ is a presentation of D.R.
Entertinments . The present line up of the Golden Chimes along with
their original members will be on stage to grace the occasion.
Golden Chimes commenced their musical career in 1970 led by late
Clarence Wijewardena.
Clarence
Wijewardena (rhythm gutair/vocals), Channka Perera (bass/vocals
), Dixon Goonaratne (lead guitar), Wijith Peiris (drums) Lankika
Perera and Anil Bhareti was the line for Golden Chimes in 1970.
Dixon
who is presently residing in Switzerland will be in Sri Lanka to
perform at this show along with Chanaka, Lankika, Wijith and Anil.
Rukshan Perera, Lakpriya de Silva and Layasing de Silva, who joined
the band in 1973 too will be performing at the show. Ravindra Ferando
(Keyboards) and Terry Miskin, who performed with the Golden Chimes
in early eighties along with the present members, Jagath Peiris
(lead/vocals), Pimal Fernando (keyboards/vocals) Ajith Wijemanne
(drums) and Dane Asomone will also perform at the show.
They
will be singing the best of Golden Chimes hits such as Kimada Nve,
Mage Pelpathe, Sihinsinawai , Kiri Muhuda, Iru Dina, Sandai Tharui,
Malai Welai, Bethlehem Pure. The show will be compered by Vijeya
Corea.
A CD comprising Best of Golden Chimes songs produced by Torana music
box will be launched on this day. Tickets priced at Rs. 2000/, 1500/-,
1000/-, and 500/-.
