CIMA
Mastercourse on “Reducing costs through lean thinking”
CIMA Sri Lanka Division is conducting a Mastercourse on “Reducing
cost through lean thinking” on January 17 at the Trans Asia
Hotel. Jeremy Hope MA, FCA writer and management educator will lead
this Mastercourse.
CIMA
said this course makes hidden costs more visible and draws managers’
attention to the scale of the problem and what can be done about
it. “This programme will help you to understand how to dismantle
bureaucracy; how to use “lean” thinking to eliminate
waste in both manufacturing and service operations; how to focus
on process flows rather than functions and departments; how to put
pressure on central (shared) services costs; how to identify worthwhile
products and customers (those that are strategic and profitable),”
it said.
Jeremy
Hope is one of the world’s foremost thought leaders in the
field of performance management and has written dozens of articles
and co-written three books (Transforming the Bottom Line (1995),
Competing in the Third Wave (1997) and Beyond Budgeting (2003) –
all published by the Harvard Business School Press.
He
also has a new book from the same publisher due out in early 2006
entitled “Reinventing the CFO”. He has been keynote
speaker at many conferences on performance management around the
world.
