Chinthana copy
All Ministries and other government institutions were instructed
to finalise their plans of action for 2006 by December 31, based
on the ‘Mahinda Chintanaya’ programme of President Mahinda
Rajapakse.
The
officials of the Agricultural Development Ministry were among those
who received a circular asking them to prepare such a programme.
The problem is that many of the Government organisations do not
have a copy of the President’s programme of action that he
presented to the people during the elections. Officials say that
when they are directed to prepare such a programme, at least they
must be informed of the salient points included in the ‘Mahinda
Chintanaya’ so that they can act accordingly.
Disaster
for minister
Minister of Natural Disaster Relief Ameer Ali got a visa to visit
India. He made one trip and returned to the country. Then he embarked
on another visit to India not realising that he only had a single
entry visa though it was valid for a further period of time.
On
landing in India, he was in for a rude shock. The authorities there
told him he had no valid visa to enter the country and put him into
the next flight back to Mother Lanka.
Next
time he should check his visa more carefully before he boards the
plane for an overseas visit.
