Ex-LTTE cadre shot dead
A former LTTE cadre was shot dead in Urumpirai in Jaffna yesterday morning by unidentified persons while he was riding a motor cycle.

A grenade was lobbed at a police sentry point in Iruthayapuram in Batticoloa. Nobody was hurt from the attack but a transformer was reportedly damaged.
In another incident, suspected LTTE cadres had hurled a grenade at a tractor carrying meals for soldiers at Kalliyankadu in Batticaloa. Soldiers who were travelling in the tractor escaped unhurt but the vehicle sustained damages.
