Amarillo : New school of music
Amarillo School of Music had its beginnings in August 2005. In only four months the school has become quite popular with a regular intake of students. The school currently conducts lessons in Piano, Organ, Guitar, Classical Guitar and Drums.

‘At Amarillo, age is not a restriction. The students range from as young as 5 years to mature adults. The only qualification required for enrollment is an interest in music’ said the chief instructor of the school.

Lessons are conducted in a relaxed atmosphere and students have the flexibility to learn their particular instrument in the manner most suited to their age and level of learning. Students can either study for music exams or just learn for their own pleasure.

The Classical Guitar lessons need a special mention because only a very few people in the country teach this style. Classical Guitar (Finger Style) is taught to western notations. Once you learn to play finger style classical guitar you can play any kind of music such as Western Pop, Western Classical, Sinhala Pop, Flamenco and Folk Music and also Chord playing with a song accompaniment.

Plans for the New Year include the introduction of some interesting new lessons. Number one on the list is DJ Lessons. Conducted by an experienced DJ (of Footwork DJs) it will be a three-month course in two Modules. The Amarillo School of Music is situated at 91/1, Rajagiriya Road, Rajagiriya. For enrollment contact 0717777111.
