Mountain
Hawk Express and Hayleys Advantis in a strategic alliance
Mountain Hawk Express, Licensee of Federal Express Corporation,
announced a strategic alliance last week with Hayleys Advantis in
a bid to reposition itself while enhancing the transportation portfolio
of Hayleys through new synergies.
Hamdi Osman, Regional Vice President, FedEx Express for the Middle
East Indian Subcontinent & Africa Region, said that FedEx, the
world’s largest express transportation company, provides fast
and reliable delivery to every U.S. address and to more than 220
countries and territories.
“FedEx
Express uses a global air and ground network to speed delivery of
time-sensitive shipments in one to three business days,” he
said, adding that it connects more than 90 percent of the world’s
GDP within one to three days.
He said the alliance will provide for the rationalisation of airport
services through integrated operations with the Hayleys zonal operations
within free trade zones and enable the local Fedex licensee to make
later pickups and earlier deliveries to customers in these zones.
Mountain
Hawk Express has been providing express transportation services
for over 18 years and operates through a network of branches and
agents established throughout Sri Lanka.
Mohan
Pandithage, Managing Director, Hayleys Advantis said as a first
step in repositioning the company in the Sri Lankan air express
industry, they had changed the mindset of the staff by providing
them with all the facilities needed to service the customers and
provide the best value addition. “We have also moved into
a state of the art office complex, in the heart of the city, and
also simultaneously upgraded our facilities in branch offices,”
he said.
