Girl
returns in search of her roots

A Sri Lankan girl adopted by a Dutch family is back in the country
trying to trace down her mother and other family members.
The
21 year-old Tharangani Riders was adopted by a Dutch family when
she was only seven months. She visited her mother’s native
place of Magalkanda in Maggona, but had been unable to trace her.
Armed
with a picture of her mother, Bentotage Soma Chandra Fernando, taken
22 years ago, the girl is trying to locate the organization, then
based at Parakrama Avenue, Kalubowila which arranged for her adoption.
Tharangani is trained in the hotel trade, is employed and continues
to try to locate her mother.
