Time
was tight for Kingswood
By Shamseer Jaleel
The Inter-School cricket match between Wesley and Kingswood ended
in an exciting draw at Cambpell Park yesterday. Set a victory target
of 174 off 14 overs the lads from Kandy ended up on 85 losing only
a solitary wicket. Both Senaratne brothers - Prasad (41 not out)
and Indika (36) gave a glimmer of hope for an outright victory for
the Kandy school but in the end ran out of overs.
Kingswood,
continuing from their overnight score of 120 for 4, went on to make
245 - two short of the Wesely first innings score of 247. The highlight
of the Kingswood innings were the two elegant half tons by Niroshan
Perera (57) and Demintha Dahanayake (50).
