Sri
Lanka among Top 10 Markets for Skywards
Membership of Skywards, the frequent flyer programme of Emirates
and SriLankan Airlines, is closing in on the 50,000 mark in Sri
Lanka, following good growth over the last year.
Sri
Lanka enjoys the distinction of being one of the top 10 countries
in terms of Skywards' memberships. Worldwide membership of the award-winning
loyalty programme, which is available in over 200 countries, has
topped 1.8 million.
In
Sri Lanka, Skywards' popularity transcends all ages as is evident
from a robust 1500 registered members of Skysurfers, the Skywards
equivalent for young travellers aged between two and 16 years, a
statement from Skywards said.
Emirates
Area Manager Sri Lanka and Maldives Tissa Bibile said: "Skywards
has delivered true value to its members through unbeatable travel
privileges and benefits. We are very pleased with the response from
Sri Lankan travellers to the programme."
Skywards
offers three tiers of membership, Blue, Silver and Gold, with each
membership tier providing exclusive privileges. Members earn Skywards
Miles as they fly Emirates, Sri Lankan or partner airlines, or when
they use the programme's designated hotels, car rentals, financial,
leisure and lifestyle partners.
Skywards
Miles can be redeemed for an amazing range of rewards, including
flights, upgrades, hotel accommodation, excursions, exclusive shopping,
and fine dining.
When
redeeming Skywards Miles, members can receive free tickets not only
from Emirates but also from other Skywards partners worldwide such
as South African Airways, Delta, Japan Airline, and United Airlines.
