Amendment blunts CPC cost-cutting
By L.B. Senaratne
The cost-cutting proposal by Central Provincial Council (CPC) Chairman
W. Yasamana to have only two sessions of sittings has met with a
snag in the 13th Amendment.
The
CPC sits four times during the months it is not on vacation. Mr.
Yasamana proposed to have only two sessions during the month, but
was pointed out that it was not possible due to the provisions in
the Act.
This
proposal has been submitted to the Council’s Law Committee
to study how best this could be implemented.
