tune for socially responsible companies
E. M. Susantha, a blind music teacher from Embilipitiya, plays a
beautiful tune on his flute at the 2006 Community Leader Awards
ceremony held at the Cinnamon Grand Hotel in Colombo on Tuesday.
He was a member of a troupe from the Sunera Foundation that delighted
the audience at the ceremony to present awards to companies who
have excelled in education initiatives in schools. It was organised
by The Sunday Times Business Club and CIMA with the support of Unilever
and UNICEF. Slimline won the gold award in the large category. Inset
– Mahesh Bhatt, UNICEF Special Envoy and reputed Indian film-maker
who was the Guest of Honour.
