Lankan
biz leaders at Australian summit

Five leading businessmen from Sri Lanka, have been invited to attend
a business leaders’ summit in Australia, held concurrently
with the Commonwealth Games.
Susantha
Ratnayake, JKH Chairman, Harry Jayawardena, Managing Director of
Stassens Group, N. G. Wickremeratne, Deputy Chairman, Hayleys Group,
Ranjith Page, Deputy Chairman of Cargills Ceylon Ltd and Khavan
Perera, Director (representing Lalith Kothalawala, Chairman of Ceylinco
Consolidated Ltd, are attending the Australian and Victorian Government’s
Business Club Australia: Melbourne 2006 networking programme.
The
programme is designed to foster international business opportunities
in and around the M2006 Commonwealth Games and to provide opportunities
to develop and strengthen the existing trade and investment relationship
between Australia and Sri Lanka. Participants will follow a comprehensive
business itinerary during the games and beyond to meet with Australian
companies and participate in the Club’s extensive networking
programme.
Participating
global industry leaders of other countries include those from the
United Kingdom, India, Singapore, Taiwan, China, Japan and the USA.
