Batey contract to end
The Sri Lanka Tourist Board is to discontinue the services of Batey, a top Singaporean-based PR company, at the board’s PR agency with effect from the end of April.

“The Tourist Board has served the notice of termination to Batey’s and the Board is in the process of establishing its own public relations unit,” a senior Tourist Board official told The Sunday Times FT. Dr. Prathap Ramanujam, Secretary, Ministry of Tourism declined to comment.

In recent months, disagreements erupted between the agency and the client over a claim from WOMAD to the Tourist Board, for non payment of fees during the international festival of music held in Colombo late last year.
