Unique
presentation by Ananda
The English Literary Union of Ananda College Colombo presented their
Annual Literary Festival 2006 in a grand scale at the Tower Hall
Maradana recently. This is a unique event to the talented young
Anandians to put forward their best in English Literature which
included Drama, Speech, Dances and Music.
Mrs. Chandra Amarasekera, National Co-ordinator for English, Consultant
for English to the Ministry of Education, was the Guest of Honour
and the Chief Guest Mr. B.A. Abeyratne, Principal of Ananda College.
A Puja
dance "Buddhanu Bhawena" was the curtain raiser among
the various dances performed by the students. The young Anandians
went through a tight schedule of the various items backed by their
teachers especially in the dramas and speeches. 'Villa for Sale,"
simulation the Military Tribunal by the advanced level students,
a dance by the students of year 7, 8, 9, titled Bahma Mama.
Action
songs by Year 6 students were among the highlights of the programme.
Students who took part as female characters in dramas and dancers
were well dressed and presented female voices which attracted the
audience. They looked so real in their performances.
