forward to assist us” said Gunaratne Banda President of the
Sri Lanka Weightlifting Federation upon his re-election on Friday.
“At
the same time the Weightlifting Federation along with NOC and the
Commonwealth Games Sponsors are in the process of organizing a reception
in honour of Chinthana, but we are awaiting the return of NOC chief
Hemasiri Fernando who is in Korea at present’.
Speaking

said “In a move to further Chinthana’s skills the Sri
Lanka Weightlifting Federation is hoping to send Chinthana to Australia
on a two year scholarship and we are hoping to do this very soon.
