Nuwara-Eliya season
gets festive boost from SLI
Sri Lanka Insurance (SLI) together with the co-operation of the
Nuwara-Eliya Municipal Council hopes to hold this year’s Nuwara-Eliya
season in an impressive fashion with many exciting events lined-up
for the festive season.
The insurance company said that among these events are the Mahagastota
Hill Climb, the “Minimuthu” Corner and provision of
a variety of seasonal information at key entry-points to Nuwara-Eliya
making the season a more enjoyable and safer occasion for all visitors.
These
special events are to be held from April 7 to 23 at locations in
and around the Nuwara-Eliya town. One of the most prestigious events
during the season is the Mahagastota Hill Climb scheduled to be
held today. SLI has partnered with the Ceylon Motor Sport Club (CMSC)
to make the Mahagastota Hill Climb a memorable one for all visitors.
Due
to its high popularity, this year too SLI will open it’s Minimuthu
Corner, at the Nuwara-Eliya Children’s Park to all children
visiting Nuwara-Eliya during this beautiful time of the year.
SLI
said it has built a protective fence around its Minimuthu Corner,
so that children who come to the park can play in a safe and secure
environment under minimal supervision of their parents. In addition,
the play-area includes special play equipment and facilities to
provide much loved candy to all youngsters who come to enjoy themselves
at the Minimuthu Corner, courtesy SLI.
SLI
team members will be present at three key-entry points to Nuwara-Eliya
and will provide all visitors with a free colour map of Nuwara-Eliya,
which will act as a guide to both local and foreign visitors visiting
the city.
A visitor could upon filling the coupon provided in the map obtain
a complimentary gift, which would be provided by the SLI (Nuwara-Eliya
Branch).
There
would also be a special “Season Event Board” close to
the public bus stand in the Nuwara-Eliya town showing important
seasonal events taking place in Nuwara-Eliya to all visitors entering
the city during the festive season. SLI has also taken steps to
educate all visitors entering the city during the season, about
“how to ensure their personal safety” while on holiday
during this festive season.
A
special leaflet giving these as well as information on “road
traffic conditions” in Nuwara-Eliya, put together in association
with the Sri Lanka Police, is to be handed out to all holidaymakers
entering the city this festive season ensuring that all visitors
have an enjoyable stay in Nuwara-Eliya.
