All
fuel prices go up by Rs. 8
Fuel prices were increased with effect from midnight yesterday,
Ceylon Petroleum Corporation Chairman Jaliya Medagama said yesterday.
He
said the price of all petroleum products had been increased across
the board by Rs. 8 per litre. Accordingly the price of petrol will
be Rs. 88 per litre, super petrol Rs. 91, diesel Rs. 58 and kerosene
Rs. 38.50. Petroleum Minister A. H. M. Fowzie said the increases
were made because the CPC was unable to bear the burden of Rs. 2
billion a month subsidy and rising world oil prices.
